It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American  descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back  drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.  
True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists. 
Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters. 
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy".  Pride blind the foolish.  
Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power.  Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America. 
The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama.  His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive.  His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world.  If this  keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not,  America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.  
These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all.  First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, losses, and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars.  These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison.  Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes.  Should we congratulate them? 
These men, of  course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the  very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on  trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another.  They are also usurping the rights, duties, and powers of the American congress (parliament).  Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters. 
Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company.   That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self-given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will.  Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions. 
So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies.  I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster.  Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, and so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride. 
Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "free man" whimper. 
So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance, and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses?  Senator Barney Frank, a social pervert basking in his  homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal  norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a  looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his  Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort.  He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive. 
The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.  
The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest, and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is.  The world will only snicker.

You Should Have Stopped Me At The Dinner Roll

The Dinner Roll ..

Once upon a time I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President.
I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics.
There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind.  I live in a FREE country.  There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws.  My wealth was EARNED honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.
I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. 
We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen.  The Great Seal was embossed on the china.  Uniformed staff served our dinner.
The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.. 
"Sorry 'bout that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry." 
"I don't appreciate...." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty.  It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass.
Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.  "And his brother, Eric, is very thirsty," said the President.

I didn't say anything.  The President is testing my compassion, I thought.  I withheld my comments and decided to play along.  I don't want to seem unkind..
My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.
"Eric's children are also quite hungry."
With a lurch, I crashed to the floor.  My chair had been pulled out from under me.
I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.
And their grandmother can't stand for long."
I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool.  Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game.  I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken..
I turned back to the President.
"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."
I wanted to shout, "that was my coat!"  But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport.  I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled.
Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone.  I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table.
I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home.
Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in.  The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.
"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions.  They haven't planned for retirement and they need a house.  They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage.  I told them they could have your home.  They need it more than you do."
My hands were shaking.  I felt faint I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor.
The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak, and drank his wine.  I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.
"By the way," he added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories.
I'm firing you as head of your business.  I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind.
There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars...we need to spread YOUR wealth around..."
I looked up.  The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his crème Brule.
He drained the last drops of his wine.  As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair.
He stared at me.  I clung to the edge of the table as if it were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss.
I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived.  The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle.
Why was I punished?  How had I allowed it to be taken?  What game had I played and lost?  I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us.
What had I done wrong?
As if answering the unspoken thought, President Obama suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands.
"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll," he said.

This was checked out with Snopes and others, and it comes back this is undetermined that Mrs. Hackett actually wrote this.  However, the meaning of what this message says, is all too true.  In one source that I checked, there was a video of the President tossing the flowers on the Memorial on 9/11, while others bent over and gently placed them.

honoring our tradition.

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that  you
intended to visit all 57 states.

We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently  placed a
flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly  tossed your flower onto
the pile without leaning  over.

Thank you very much for inviting me.
I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a
tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be
in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and
present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the
sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe. Then, I will say a few
things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem.
The Europe you know is changing.
You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a
few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the
world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.
All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods
where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they
might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves,
where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of
children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead.
With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot
read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim
ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and
they are mushrooming in every city across Europe. These are the buildingblocks
for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe, street by
street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.
There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe. With larger
congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are
plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly,
the signal is: we rule.
Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam,
Marseille and Malmo in Sweden. In many cities the majority of the under-18
population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim
neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many
cities.
In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be
mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would
be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils.
In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims.
Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes are not

In France, school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to
Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin.
The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim
sensitivity.
In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many
neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves.
Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels,
because he was drinking during the Ramadan.
Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of
anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the
streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya, Israel. I could go on forever with stories like
this. Stories about Islamization.
A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe. San Diego University
recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will
be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim
majority by the end of this century.
Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the
Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of
that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their
loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France. One-third of French
Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion
reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide
caliphate. Muslims demand what they call 'respect'. And this is how we give
them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays.
The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the
Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with
passports from Morocco and Turkey.

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes
and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers,
to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the
banlieus. I call the perpetrators 'settlers'. Because that is what they are. They
do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society
into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they are settlers.
Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-
Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities,
their countries. Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.
The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the
prophet. His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized.
Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother
Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a
warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages - at the same
time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies
murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself
slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. If it is good for Islam, it is good.
If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.
Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a hereafter,
and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a
system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person.
Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means 'submission'. Islam is
not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is
sharia. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or
national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.
Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in
the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has
wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the
aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support
Israel. First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of
exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is a democracy, and third
because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial
advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the
Philippines, Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan, Lebanon, and Aceh in
Indonesia. Israel is simply in the way. The same way West-Berlin was during
the Cold War.
The war against Israel is not a war against Israel. It is a war against the West.
It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If
there would have been no Israel, Islamic imperialism would have found other
venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli
parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in
Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers
looming.
Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the
grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down,
it would not bring any solace to the West. It would not mean our Muslim
minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values.
On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the
forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof
that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of Israel would not mean the end
of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of
the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel, they can get
everything. So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of
Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'. In my country, the
Netherlands, 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of
Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60
percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a danger greater danger
than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The
lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe
means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an
intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will
turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it
would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome, Athens and
Jerusalem.
Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to
fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who

fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe, American cemeteries remind
us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish.
My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We
can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe's children in the same state

Dear Mr. Rand,   
Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith. 
While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it's abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.      
Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there! 
We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.      
This Presidential Administration scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires.     
Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our 'house', invaded our home without our invitation or consent. One of the most poorly kept secrets in Washington is President Obama's animosity toward Great Britain , presumably because of what he regards as its sins while ruling Kenya (1895-1963).

One of Barack Hussein Obama's first acts as president was to return to Britain a bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office since 9/11.  He followed this up by denying Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his first state visit, the usual joint press conference with flags. 

The president was "too tired" to grant the leader of America's closest ally a proper welcome, his aides told British journalists.

Mr. Obama followed this up with cheesy gifts for Mr. Brown and the Queen.  Columnist Ian Martin described his behavior as "rudeness personified."

There was more rudeness in store for Mr. Brown at the opening session of the United Nations in September.

"The prime minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure five minutes of face time with President Obama after five requests for a sit down meeting were rejected by the White House," said London Telegraph columnist David Hughes.  Mr. Obama's "churlishness is unforgivable," Mr. Hughes said.

The administration went beyond snubs and slights last week (3/02/10) when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed the demand of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, a Hugh Chavez ally, for mediation of Argentina 's specious claim to the Falkland Islands , a British dependency since 1833.

The people who live in the Falklands, who speak English, want nothing to do with Argentina .  When, in 1982,  an earlier Argentine dictatorship tried to seize the Falklands by force, the British -- with strong support from President Ronald Reagan -- expelled them.

"It is truly shocking that Barack Obama has decided to disregard our shared history," wrote Telegraph columnist Toby Young.  "Does Britain's friendship really mean so little to him?"

One could ask, does the friendship of anyone in the entire world mean anything to him?

"I recently asked several senior administration officials, separately, to name a foreign leader with whom Barack Obama has forged a strong personal relationship during his first year in office," wrote Jackson Diehl, deputy editorial page editor of the Washington Post, on Monday (3/08).  "A lot of hemming and hawing ensued."

One official named French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but his contempt for Mr. Obama is an open secret.  Another named German Chancellor Angela Merkel.  But, said Mr. Diehl, "Merkel too has been conspicuously cool toward Obama."

Mr. Obama certainly doesn't care about the Poles and Czechs, whom he has betrayed on missile defense.  Honduras and Israel also can attest that he's been an unreliable ally and an unfaithful friend.  Ironically, our relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have never been worse.

Russia has offered nothing in exchange for Mr. Obama's abandonment of missile defense.  Russia and China won't support serious sanctions on Iran .  Syria 's support for terrorism has not diminished despite efforts to normalize diplomatic relations.  The reclusive military dictatorship that runs Burma has responded to our efforts at "engagement" by deepening its ties to North Korea .

And the Chinese make little effort to disguise their contempt for him.

For the first time in a long time, the President of the United States is not trusted by our allies or feared by our adversaries, and is respected by neither.  Americans, understandably focused on the dismal economy and Mr. Obama's efforts to nationalize health care, have yet to notice.  They will.

This email from a Marine who's in Iraq. No politics here, just a Marine 'S bird's-eye-view opinion:

US Weapons:

1) The M-16 rifle:

Thumbs down. Chronic jamming problems with the talcum powder-like sand over there. The sand is everywhere. Jordan says you feel filthy 2 minutes after coming out of the shower. The M-4 carbine version is more popular because it's lighter and shorter, but it has jamming problems also. They lack the ability to mount the various optical gunsights and weapons lights on the picatinny rails, but the weapon itself is not great in a desert environment. They all hate the 5.56mm (.223) round. Poor penetration on the cinderblock structure common over there and even torso hits can't be reliably counted on to put the enemy down.

Fun fact: Random autopsies on dead insurgents show a high level of opiate use.

2) The M243 SAW (squad assault weapon):

.223 cal. Drum-fed light machine gun. Big thumbs down. Universally considered a piece of shit.  Chronic jamming problems, most of which require partial disassembly (that's fun in the middle of a firefight).

3) The M9 Beretta 9mm:

Mixed bag. Good gun, performs well in desert environment, but they all hate the 9mm cartridge. The use of handguns for self-defense is actually fairly common. Same old story on the 9mm: Bad guys hit multiple times and still in the fight.

4) Mossberg 12ga. Military shotgun:

Works well, used frequently for clearing houses to good effect.

5) The M240 Machine Gun:

7.62 NATO (.308) cal. Belt-fed machine gun, developed to replace the old M-60 (what a beautiful weapon that was!!) Thumbs up. Accurate, reliable, and the 7.62 round puts 'em down.

Originally developed as a vehicle-mounted weapon, more and more are being dismounted and taken into the field by infantry. The 7.62 round chews up the structure over there.

6) The M2 50 cal heavy machine gun:

Thumbs way, way up. "Ma Deuce" is still worth her considerable weight in gold. The ultimate fight stopper --  puts their dicks in the dirt every time. The most coveted weapon in-theater.

7) The .45 pistol:

Thumbs up. Still the best pistol around out there. Everybody authorized to carry a sidearm is trying to get their hands on one. With few exceptions, can reliably be expected to put 'em down with a torso hit. The special ops guys (who are doing most of the pistol work) use the HK military model and supposedly love it. The old government model .45's are being re-issued en masse.

8) The M-14:

Thumbs up. They are being re-issued in bulk, mostly in a modified version to special ops guys.  Modifications include lightweight Kevlar stocks and low-power red dot or ACOG sights. Very reliable in the sandy environment, and they love the 7.62 round.

9) The Barrett .50-cal sniper rifle:

Thumbs way up. Spectacular range and accuracy and hits like a freight train. Used frequently to take out vehicle suicide bombers (we actually stop a lot of them) and barricaded enemy. It is definitely here to stay.

10) The M24 sniper rifle:

Thumbs up. Mostly in .308 but some in 300 win mag. Heavily modified Remington 700's. Great performance. Snipers have been used heavily to great effect. Rumor has it a Marine sniper on his third tour in Anbar province has actually exceeded Carlos Hathcock's record for confirmed kills with OVER 100.

11) The new body armor:

Thumbs up. Relatively light at approx. 6 lbs. And can reliably be expected to soak up small shrapnel and even will stop an AK-47 round. The bad news: Hot as shit to wear, almost unbearable in the summer heat (which averages over 120 degrees). Also, the enemy now goes for head shots whenever possible. All the bullshit about the "old" body armor making our guys vulnerable to the IED's was a non-starter. The IED explosions are enormous and body armor doesn't make any difference at all in most cases.

12) Night Vision and Infrared Equipment:

Thumbs way up. Spectacular performance. Our guys see in the dark and own the night, period.  Very little enemy action after evening prayers. More and more enemy being whacked at night during movement by our hunter-killer teams. We've all seen the videos.

13) Lights:

Thumbs up. Most of the weapon-mounted and personal lights are Surefire's, and the troops love 'em. Invaluable for night urban operations. Jordan carried a $34 Surefire G2 on a neck lanyard and loved it. I cant help but notice that most of the good fighting weapons and ordnance are 50 or more years old!! With all our technology, it's the WWII- and Vietnam-era weapons that everybody wants!!  The infantry fighting is frequent, up close and brutal. No quarter is given or shown.

Bad-guy weapons:

1) Mostly AK47's. The entire country is an arsenal. Works better in the desert than the M16 and the .308 Russian round kills reliably. PKM belt-fed light machine guns are also common and effective.   Luckily, the enemy mostly shoots like shit. Undisciplined "spray and pray"-type fire. However, they are seeing more and more precision weapons, especially sniper rifles. ( Iran, again.)

2) The RPG:

Probably the infantry weapon most feared by our guys. Simple, reliable and as common as dogshit.  The enemy responded to our up-armored Humvees by aiming at the windshields, often at point-blank range. Still killing a lot of our guys.

3) The IED:

The biggest killer of all. Can be anything from old Soviet anti-armor mines to jury-rigged artillery shells. A lot found in Jordan's area were in abandoned cars. The enemy would take 2 or 3 155mm artillery shells and wire them together. Most were detonated by cell phone and the explosions are enormous. You're not safe in any vehicle, even an M1 tank. Driving is by far the most dangerous thing our guys do over there. Lately, they are much more sophisticated "shape charges" (Iranian) specifically designed to penetrate armor. Fact: Most of the ready-made IED's are supplied by Iran, who is also providing terrorists (Hezbollahtypes) to train the insurgents in their use and tactics.  That's why the attacks have been so deadly lately. Their concealment methods are ingenious, the latest being shape charges, in Styrofoam containers spray painted to look like the cinderblocks that litter all Iraqi roads. We find about 40% before they detonate, and the bomb-disposal guys are unsung heroes of this war.

4) Mortars and rockets:

Very prevalent. The Soviet-era 122mm rockets (with an 18km range) are becoming more prevalent.  One of Jordan's NCO's lost a leg to one. These weapons cause a lot of damage "inside the wire."   Jordan's base was hit almost daily his entire time there by mortar and rocket fire, often at night to disrupt sleep patterns and cause fatigue (it did).  More of a psychological weapon than anything else. The enemy mortar teams would jump out of vehicles, fire a few rounds, and then haul ass in a matter of seconds.

Fun fact:

Captured enemy have apparently marveled at the marksmanship of our guys and how hard they fight. They are apparently told in Jihad school that the Americans rely solely on technology, and can be easily beaten in close quarters combat for their lack of toughness. Let's just say they know better now.

Bad-guy technology:

Simple yet effective. Most communication is by cell and satellite phones and also by email on laptops. They use handheld GPS units for navigation and "Google Earth" for overhead views of our positions. Their weapons are good, if not fancy, and prevalent. Their explosives and bomb technology is TOP OF THE LINE. Night vision is rare. They are very careless with their equipment and the captured GPS units and laptops are treasure troves of Intel when captured.

Who are the bad guys? Most of the carnage is caused by the Zarqawi Al Qaeda group. They operate mostly in Anbar province (Fallujah and Ramadi). These are mostly "foreigners," non-Iraqi Sunni Arab Jihadists from all over the Muslim world (and Europe). Most enter Iraq through Syria (with, of course, the knowledge and complicity of the Syrian  govt.), and then travel down the "rat line," which is the trail of towns along the Euphrates River that we've been hitting hard for the last few months.

Some are virtually untrained young Jihadists that often end up as suicide bombers or in various "sacrifice squads." Most, however, are hardcore terrorists from all the usual suspects (Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas etc.). These are the guys running around murdering civilians an masse and cutting heads off.

The Chechens (many of whom are Caucasian) are supposedly the most ruthless and the best fighters. They have been fighting the Russians for years. In the Baghdad area and south, most of the insurgents are Iranian inspired (and led) Iraqi Shiites. The Iranian Shiia have been very adept at infiltrating the Iraqi local govt.'s, the police forces and the army. They have had a massive spy and agitator network there since the Iran-Iraq war in the early '80s. Most of the Saddam loyalists were killed, captured, or gave up long ago.

Bad-Guy Tactics: When they are engaged on an infantry level. they get their asses kicked every time! Brave, but stupid. Suicidal Banzai-type charges were very common earlier in the war and still occur. They will literally sacrifice 8-10-man teams in suicide squads by sending them screaming and firing AK's and RPG's directly at our bases just to probe the defenses. They get mowed down like grass every time (see the M2 and M240 above). Jordan's base was hit like this often.

When engaged, they have a tendency to flee to the same building, probably for what they think will be a glorious last stand. Instead, we call in air and that's the end of that more often than not. These hole-ups are referred to as Alpha Whiskey Romeo's (Allah's Waiting Room). We have the laser-guided ground-air thing down to a science. The fast movers, mostly Marine F-18's, are taking an ever-increasing toll on the enemy. When caught out in the open, the helicopter gunships and AC-130 Spectre Gunships cut them to ribbons with cannon and rocket fire, especially at night. Interestingly, artillery is hardly used at all.

Fun facts:

The enemy death toll is supposedly between 45-50 thousand. That is why we're seeing fewer and fewer infantry attacks and more IED, suicide-bomber shit. The new strategy is just simple: attrition.

The insurgent tactic most frustrating is their use of civilian non-combatants as cover. They know we do all we can to avoid civilian casualties and therefore schools, hospitals and especially Mosques are locations where they meet, stage for attacks, cache weapons, and ammo and flee to when engaged. They have absolutely no regard whatsoever for inflicting civilian casualties. They will terrorize locals and murder without hesitation anyone believed to be sympathetic to the Americans or the new Iraqi govt. Kidnapping of family members, especially children, is common to influence people they are trying to influence but can't reach, such as local govt. officials, clerics, tribal leaders, etc.

The first thing our guys are told is "don't get captured. They know that if captured they will be tortured and beheaded on the Internet. Zarqawi openly offers bounties for anyone who brings him a  live American serviceman. This motivates the criminal element who otherwise don't give a shit about the war. A lot of the beheading victims were actually kidnapped by common criminals and sold to Zarqawi.

As such, for our guys, every fight is to the death. Surrender is not an option. The Iraqis are a mixed bag. Some fight well; others aren't worth a damn. Most do okay with American support. Finding leaders is hard, but they are getting better.

It is widely viewed that Zarqawi's use of suicide bombers, en masse, against the civilian population was a serious tactical mistake. Many Iraqis were galvanized and the caliber of recruits in the army and the police forces went right up, along with their motivation. It also led to an exponential increase in good intel because the Iraqis are sick of the insurgent attacks against civilians. The Kurds are solidly pro-American and fearless fighters.

Morale:

According to Jordan, morale among our guys is very high. They not only believe that they are winning, but that they are winning decisively. They are stunned and dismayed by what they see in the American press, whom they almost universally view as against them. The embedded reporters are despised and distrusted. They are inflicting casualties at a rate of 20-1 and then see shit like "Are we losing in Ira " on TV and the print media.

For the most part, they are satisfied with their  equipment, food, and leadership. Bottom line though, and they all say this, is that there are not enough guys there to drive the final stake through the heart of the insurgency, primarily because there aren't enough troops in-theater to shut down the borders with Iran and Syria. The Iranians and the Syrians just can't stand the thought of Iraq's being an American ally (with, of course, permanent US bases there).

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?
Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:
The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008.
They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.
They ignored his anti-white writings in his books.
They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.
They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student.
They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator.
The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.
Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East , way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future. The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.
Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.
The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be -- a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away.
These are perilous times.. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care.
Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms. There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America .

      How good is our government?  A local talk radio host, Ed Henley on 700AM radio, was talking about how yesterday, he decided he would make some calls to Washington DC to see if our government was prepared for the storm (not like they didn’t have any warning).  First he called the HQ for Homeland Security.  Guess what!  The phone rang for 3 minutes and no one answered (he recorded the calls he made all day long by the way).  He called back and someone did answer to tell him no one was there it was closed because of the weather.  Homeland Security HQ was down?  No phone call forwarding?  No answering system in place?  No contingency plan for this type of situation?  I feel safe now!!! 
Then Ed decides to contact FEMA.  Ed has a daughter in DC and thought, "suppose she was snowed in without power?"  What was she to do?  Now,... ALL of FEMA is in Washington DC , all 3,700 folks making up the organization.  And FEMA is Federal EMERGENCY Management Assistance?  Well, their offices were closed, they were without power (no backup generators?).  His call was forwarded to a switchboard in VIRGINIA .  The switchboard operator said the offices were closed because of the storm and loss of power and all she knew was the governor of Washington DC would have to declare a state of emergency and ask the President for help.  What is wrong with this picture?....(hint,... what is the state that Washington DC is located in?).  That’s right!, they aren't in a state,... they don’t have a governor.  He is then transferred to the disaster relief group and is told the same.  All Washington government offices are closed because of the blizzard?

  So the government branch responsible for handling disasters and preparedness is incapable of doing their job when a blizzard hits DC?

But it gets better. 
    Ed then wonders if all businesses are closed.  So he finds a Holiday Inn

that is three blocks from the capital building and calls.  Guess what?

Not only are they open, their restaurant is open, serving full meals!

The Holiday Inn have a full staff on duty including maid service,

and the FEMA folks are staying there using your tax dollars to

do so ... !!! 
So... in case of Emergency, call the Holiday Inn!

MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PRESIDENT

 

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.  The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

 

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained.  "Nobody made these guys go to war.  They had to have known and accepted the risks.  Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?  It doesn't compute." 

"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued.  "I wasn't asking for blood, just money..  With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.  I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know.  How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT... "Nobody made these guys go to war.  They had to have known and accepted the risks.  Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"

 

If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over... If you or a family member is or has served their country, please pass this to them.

A French Infantryman's View of American Soldiers

The US often hears echoes of worldwide hostility against the application of its foreign policy, but seldom are they reached by the voices of people who experience first-hand how close we are to the USA .  In spite of contextual political differences and conflicting interests that generate friction, we do share the same fundamental values - and when push comes to shove that is what really counts.  Through the eyes of that French OMLT (Operational Mentoring Liaison Teams) infantryman you can see how strong the bond is on the ground.  In contrast with the Americans, the French soldiers don't seem to write much online - or maybe the proportion is the same but we just have fewer people deployed.  Whatever the reason, this is a rare and moving testimony which is why I decided to translate it into English, so that American people can catch a glimpse of the way European soldiers see them.  Not much high philosophy here, just the first hand impressions of a soldier in contact - but that only makes it more authentic------------------------------------------------

"We have shared our daily life with two US units for quite a while - they are the first and fourth companies of a prestigious infantry battalion whose name I will withhold for the sake of military secrecy. To the common man it is a unit just like any other.  But we live with them and got to know them, and we henceforth know that we have the honor to live with one of the most renowned units of the US Army - one that the movies brought to the public as series showing "ordinary soldiers thrust into extraordinary events".  Who are they, those soldiers from abroad, how is their daily life, and what support do they bring to the men of our OMLT every day?  Few of them belong to the Easy Company, the one the TV series focuses on.  This one nowadays is named Echo Company, and it has become the support company.
They have a very strong American accent -  the language they speak seems to be not even English.  How many times did I have to write down what I wanted to say rather than waste precious minutes trying various pronunciations of a seemingly common word?  Whatever state they are from, no two accents are alike and they themselves admit that in some crisis situations they have difficulties understanding each other.

Heavily built, fed at the earliest age with Gatorade, proteins at places like Waffle House and McDonalds - they are all heads and shoulders taller than us and their muscles remind us of Rambo .  Our frames are amusingly skinny to them - even the strongest of us - and because of that they often mistake us for Afghans.
Here we discover America as it is often depicted: their values are taken to their paroxysm, often amplified by the loneliness of this outpost in the middle of that Afghan valley.  Honor, motherland - everything here reminds of that: the American flag floating in the wind above the outpost, just like the one on the postage parcels.  Even if recruits often originate from the heart of American cities and gang territory, no one here has any goal other than to hold high and proud the star spangled banner.  Each man knows he can count on the support of their whole people who provides them through the mail all the things that an American could miss in such a remote front-line location: books, chewing gums, razorblades, Gatorade, toothpaste etc. in such way that every man is aware of how much the American people backs him in his difficult mission.  And that is a first shock to our preconceptions: the American soldier is no individualist. The team, the group, the combat team are the focus of all his attention.

And they are impressive warriors!  We have not come across bad ones, as strange as it may seem to you when you know how critical French people can be.  Even if some of them are a bit on the heavy side, all of them provide us every day with lessons in infantry know-how.  Beyond the wearing of a combat kit that never seems to discomfort them (helmet strap, helmet, combat goggles, rifles etc.) the long hours of watch at the outpost never seem to annoy them in the slightest.  On the one square meter wooden tower above the perimeter wall they stand the five consecutive hours in full battle rattle and night vision goggles on top, their sight focused in the directions of likely danger.  No distractions, no pauses, they are like statues nights and days.  At night, all movements are performed in the dark - only a handful of subdued red lights indicate the occasional presence of a soldier on the move.  Same with the vehicles whose lights are covered - everything happens in pitch dark even filling the fuel tanks with the Japy pump.
And combat?  If you have seen Rambo you have seen it all - always coming to the rescue when one of our teams gets in trouble, and always in the shortest delay.  That is one of their tricks: they switch from T-shirt and sandals to combat ready in three minutes.  Arriving in contact with the enemy, the way they fight is simple and disconcerting: they just charge! They disembark and assault in stride, they bomb first and ask questions later - which cuts any pussyfooting short.
(This is the main area where I'd like to comment.  Anyone with a passing knowledge of Kipling knows the lines from Chant Pagan: 'If your officer's dead and the sergeants look white/remember its ruin to run from a fight. /So take open order, lie down, sit tight/And wait for supports like a soldier./  This, in fact, is the basic philosophy of both British and Continental soldiers.  'In the absence of orders, take a defensive position.'  Indeed, virtually every army in the world.  The American soldier and Marine, however, are imbued from early in their training with the ethos:  In the Absence of Orders:  Attack!  Where other forces, for good or ill, will wait for precise orders and plans to respond to an attack or any other 'incident', the American force will simply go, counting on firepower and SOP to carry the day.
This is one of the great strengths of the American force in combat and it is something that even our closest allies, such as the Brits and Aussies (that latter being closer by the way) find repeatedly surprising.  No wonder it surprises the hell out of our enemies!)
We seldom hear any harsh word, and from 5 AM onwards the camp chores are performed in beautiful order and always with excellent spirit.  A passing American helicopter stops near a stranded vehicle just to check that everything is alright; an American combat team will rush to support ours - before even knowing how dangerous the mission is - from what we have been given to witness, the American soldier is a beautiful and worthy heir to those who liberated France and Europe.

To those who bestow us with the honor of sharing their combat outposts and who everyday give proof of their military excellence, to those who pay the daily tribute of America's army's deployment on Afghan soil, to those we owed this article, ourselves hoping that we will always remain worthy of them and to always continue hearing them say that we are all the same band of brothers".

A Real American Hero

Those  of you who might not know, the man on the left is the  Commandant of the Marine Corps, and he is proud to know  the man on the right.

Maybe  you'd like to hear about a real American, somebody who  honored the uniform he wears.

Meet   Brian Chontosh Churchville-Chili Central School Class of  1991.

Proud  graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.  

Husband  and about-to-be father. First lieutenant (now Captain)  in the   United  States  Marine Corps. And a genuine hero, the secretary of the Navy said  so yesterday.
At  29 Palms in California Brian Chontosh was presented with the Navy Cross,  the second highest award for combat bravery the United  States can bestow. 


That's  a big deal. But you won't see it on the network news tonight  
And  all you'll read in Brian's hometown newspaper is two  paragraphs of nothing. The odd fact about the American media in this  war is that it's not covering the American military. The  most plugged-in nation in the world is receiving virtually  no true information about what its warriors are doing.  


Oh,  sure, there's a body count. We know how many Americans  have  fallen. And we see those same casket pictures day in  and day out. 


And  we're almost on a first-name basis with the jerks who  abused the Iraqi prisoners. And we know all about  improvised explosive devices and how we lost Fallujah and  what Arab public-opinion polls say about us and how the world hates us.  


We  get a non-stop feed of  gloom and doom but we don't hear about the heroes. The incredibly brave GIs  who honorably do their duty. The ones our  grandparents would have  carried on their shoulders down Fifth Avenue .  



The  ones we completely ignore, like Brian Chontosh. It was a  year ago on the march into Baghdad . Brian Chontosh was a  platoon leader rolling up  Highway 1 in a humvee. 



When  all hell broke loose, ambush city. The young Marines were  being cut to ribbons. Mortars, machine guns, rocket  propelled grenades. 



And  the kid out of Churchville was in charge. It was do or die  and it was up to him. So he moved to the side of his column,  looking for a way to lead his men to safety. As he tried to poke a hole  through the Iraqi line his humvee came under direct enemy  machine gun fire. It was  fish in a barrel and the Marines were the fish. And Brian  Chontosh gave the order to attack...  



He  told his driver to floor the humvee directly at the machine gun emplacement  that was firing at them. And he had the guy on top with  the 50 cal unload on them. 



Within  moments there were Iraqis slumped across their machine  guns and Chontosh was still advancing, ordering his driver  now to take the Humvee  directly into the Iraqi trench that was attacking his  Marines.

Over  into the battlement the humvee went and out the door Brian  Chontosh bailed, carrying an M16 and a Beretta  

and  228 years of Marine Corps pride. 



And  he ran along the trench, with its mortars and riflemen,  machine guns and grenadiers. And he killed them all. He fought with the M16  until it was out of ammo. Then he fought with the Beretta until it was  out of ammo. Then he picked up a dead man's AK4 and fought  with that until it was out of ammo. 

Then  he picked up another dead man's AK47 and fought with that  until it was out of ammo. 

At  one point he even fired a discarded Iraqi RPG into an  enemy cluster, sending attackers flying with its grenade  explosion. 



When  he was done Brian Chontosh had cleared 200 yards of  entrenched Iraqis from his platoon's flank. He had killed more than 20 and  wounded at least as many more. 



But  that's probably not how he would tell it. He would probably merely say  that his Marines were in  trouble, and he got them  out of trouble. Ooh-rah, and drive on.  

"By  his outstanding display of decisive leadership, unlimited  courage in the face of heavy enemy fire, and utmost  devotion to duty, 1st Lt. Chontosh reflected great credit  upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the  Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service."  
That's  what the citation says.   And that's what nobody will hear. That's what doesn't seem to be  making the evening news.
Accounts  of American valor are dismissed by the press as  propaganda, yet accounts  of American difficulties are heralded as objectivity. It makes you wonder if the  role of the media is to inform or to depress - to report  or to deride. To tell the truth, or to feed us lies.  
But  I guess it doesn't matter. We're going to turn out all right as long as  men like Brian Chontosh  
wear  our uniform. 

If  you are as proud of this Marine as I am, then send this to  EVERYONE YOU KNOW
WHY  WASN'T THIS BE REPORTED ON CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC? INSTEAD WE  GOT 24-7 COVERAGE OF TIGER WOODS INFIDELITY CONSEQUENCES.  WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT?  

This Is Not What We Were Taught

Here is a little bit of RECORDED history and being that we all have a tendency to forget issues (mainly when it is convenient to us); it is good to refresh those tired neurons . . . 
The  following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning's televised "Meet The  Press'. The author is employed by none other than the Washington Post!!
From Sunday's 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag. 
General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
The General also stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... 
During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is  displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and  Face It".
Senator Obama replied: 
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be  perceived as taking sides".  "There are a lot of people in the  world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression." 
"The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing.." 
ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???  
Obama said:  "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To  Sing'. (Are you sh*tt*ng me???) If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love.

It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of  acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of waring people, conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ."

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous  institution and for a variety of reasons:

1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963.

2. Lee Harvey Oswald died there shortly after.

3. Jack Ruby - who killed Oswald, died there a few years later.

On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year.  (That's almost 44 per day---every day)

A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants. That's 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas. 

According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million.

The average patient in Parkland in maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay.

OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital, they do. " Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics.  NINE.

The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child---her previous two were also born at Parkland. Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico. This time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.)

"How long has this been going on? What are the long-term effects?

Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the US illegally - now she is having her own child there as well. (That's right; she's technically a US citizen.)

These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula.

Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable.

Because these women are illegal immigrants, they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification - no proof of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would reveal their annual income - an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word.

Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job. Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.)

There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for free treatment because they resided outside of Dallas County so the hospital is going to sue them! Illegal's get it all free! But U. S citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued! How stupid is this?

As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal immigrant patients are actually complaining about hospital staff not speaking Spanish. In this AP story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her.

In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applicants who speak Spanish.  Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester (multicultural) requirement.

(Sorry for the length, but this needs wide circulation particularly to our "employees" in Congress.)

Remember that this is about only ONE hospital in Dallas, Texas. There are many more hospitals across our country that must also deal with this.
